DISCOUNT BROKERS - CAN THEY REALLY SELL YOUR PROPERTY FOR $199??

So how does a real estate company actually sell your home for less than what MrLOFT.ca pays a professional photographer just to photograph your property? There are a number of small companies offering this "Discount service". The realty is this. Listings generate LEADS.  These "discount brokers" have no interest in your home. They are simply interested in getting buyer leads via the enquiries from buyers looking on REALTOR.ca.  These companies will happily let you try to sell your home. Oh BTW, their fee is simply for posting your home on the MLS but it is up to you to manage and complete the sale.  They will gladly stand by and pickup buyers as they walk through your door.  Your home is essentially a "Loss Leader".  This strategy is not quite the oldest trick in the book because it used to be mandatory for Realtors to provide fiduciary duties to their clients, but it's shady and unethical if you ask me.  At MrLOFT.ca we know there are many people who hate Realtors - we hate some too, especially the sloppy lazy ones whose listings look like a dog's breakfast. The reality is that it is possible to sell your home for $199, the same way it is possible to sell your home for free on Kijiji.ca, but at the end of the day I have been in this business long enough to know that a good agent is an essential buffer between a buyer and a seller.  In fact, I genuinely believe one of the fastest ways to kill a deal is to put a buyer and seller in the negotiating room together.  If you have ever sold something on Kijiji then you know first hand how buyers haggle without guidance - when someone low balls and haggles on your home, if it's not handled properly negotiations will break down.  If you are thinking of selling your Toronto Loft or Unique Home we would love the opportunity to show you what full service real estate is all about.  Feel free to call Carl for a free home evaluation. 416 272 7499
