Streetcar Developments are staking their claim as one of the leading developers in Toronto's lower east end, now anchoring both the east and west side of the DVP at Riverside & Corktown with a total of six new residential loft buildings. The Corktown District lofts are offered in two phases. Phase I consist of three separate but nearby buildings at 549 and 569 King Street East with the third just around the corner at 52 Sumach Street. The King Street properties both stand 6 stories tall while 52 Sumach is built on 5 levels. Each building contains 40-50 units and is coming close to completion, with occupancy for all buildings scheduled for the summer of 2010. Construction will be getting underway during February 2010 on Phase II. This larger 8 storey building will be positioned at 510 King Street East just across the street from it's Phase 1 counterparts, at the apex of the Queen Street/King Street intersection. The amenities that will be in Phase II will actually be available to those residents of the Phase 1 buildings as well. The designs are very attractive with the southern elevation offering an expansive and largely glazed facade, with a range of balconies and terraces. Standing at 8 stories, Phase II will bring an additional 180 units and occupancy is scheduled for the fall of 2011. Contact the MrLoft team for more information.
